Range Build-Up Analyzer
Automatically detects consolidation ranges where smart money is accumulating positions—signaling explosive breakouts are imminent when range boundaries are breached.
What It Does
The Range Build-Up Analyzer identifies when price is consolidating in a tight range—a sign that institutional players are building positions. These accumulation phases often precede explosive directional moves.
The indicator automatically marks range boundaries, tracks how long price stays consolidated, and alerts you when the range is broken—catching the big moves early.
Key Features
Auto Range Detection
Automatically identifies when price is consolidating and marks the high/low boundaries of the range.
Time-in-Range Counter
Shows how many bars price has been consolidating—longer ranges often lead to bigger breakouts.
Breakout Alerts
Get alerted when price breaks above or below the range—catch explosive moves as they happen.
False Breakout Detection
Filters out false breakouts by requiring confirmation—reducing whipsaws and false signals.

How to Use This Indicator
1. Identify Active Range
When the indicator marks a range, watch the boundaries. The longer price stays consolidated, the bigger the eventual move.
2. Monitor Time in Range
Check the time counter—ranges older than 30-50 bars often lead to explosive breakouts as liquidity builds up.
3. Wait for Confirmed Breakout
When price breaks the range, wait for a close beyond the boundary to confirm—this filters false breakouts.
4. Trade the Retest
The strongest setups occur when price breaks out, then retests the broken boundary as support/resistance before continuing.
Pro Tip: Combine with Liquidity Engine
Ranges often form above/below major liquidity zones. Use the Liquidity Engine to identify where stops are clustered—breakouts into those zones are most explosive.
