Time & Sales Pulse
Real-time order flow analyzer that tracks aggressive buying and selling, highlights institutional-sized prints, and reveals when smart money is stepping into the market.
What It Does
The Time & Sales Pulse brings advanced tape reading to TradingView. It analyzes the time and sales data stream to identify aggressive market orders (hitting the bid or lifting the offer) and highlights large institutional prints that signal smart money activity.
Unlike basic volume indicators, this tool shows you the direction and intensity of order flow in real-time—perfect for scalpers and day traders who need to see what institutions are doing right now.
Key Features
Aggressive Order Detection
Differentiates between aggressive buys (market buy orders) and aggressive sells (market sell orders)—shows true directional pressure.
Institutional Print Highlighting
Marks unusually large orders (institutional prints) with visual alerts—catch smart money entries in real-time.
Order Flow Imbalance Meter
Displays a real-time meter showing whether buying or selling is dominating—helps you trade with the flow.
Delta Volume Display
Shows cumulative delta (buy volume minus sell volume)—positive delta confirms uptrends, negative confirms downtrends.
Main Settings
| Setting | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Large Print Threshold | 5x Avg | Size multiplier to qualify as institutional print |
| Show Delta Display | true | Display cumulative delta on chart |
| Imbalance Threshold | 70/30 | Buy/sell ratio to signal strong imbalance |
| Enable Alerts | false | Alert on large institutional prints |
How to Use This Indicator
1. Watch the Imbalance Meter
When the meter shows heavy buying (70%+ aggressive buys), look for long setups. Heavy selling (70%+ aggressive sells) suggests shorts.
2. Spot Institutional Prints
Large prints marked by the indicator show where smart money is entering—these often precede significant moves.
3. Confirm with Cumulative Delta
Positive delta during uptrends confirms strength; negative delta during downtrends confirms weakness. Divergences signal reversals.
4. Trade Flow Shifts
When order flow flips from aggressive selling to aggressive buying (or vice versa), it often marks a reversal point—enter with the new flow.
Pro Tip: Combine with Session Killzones
Order flow is most reliable during high-liquidity sessions. Use Session Killzones to filter signals—only trade order flow during London/New York open.
